Automated External Defibrillator
An AED is a device that analyzes the heart's electrical rhythm and, if necessary, prompts you or will deliver a shock to a person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Through combined use of Red Cross CPR and AED response, victims of sudden cardiac emergencies are more likely to recover than ever before. The use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) can increase the chances of survival by up to 30%.
The Red Cross now facilitates the sale of a number of AED models to fit the needs of any home, organization or business. To get started, contact Wanda Carlo at 415-427-8071 or at carlowa@usa.redcross.org and team up with the Red Cross to help you prepare for a sudden cardiac emergency.
